This is in reponse to a query in my post IMHOTEP -on how to activate the dormant 12 strand DNA-after 21st dec 2012. All of us have only 2 strands of DNA- and 96% is junk.
12 strand DNA seers disappeared 6000 years ago. All ancient Indian Maharishis with superhuman powers had 12 strand DNA. They had beautiful FRACTAL minds where they saw numerical equations as geometry. You will find lot of bullshit, all over internet.
The below video of the sanskrit mantra OM MANI PADME HUM ( Avalokiteshwara ) can activate junk DNA. It has to be repeated 108 times, along with this video. well, it is about sacred Sri Yantra divine geometry. Triple lines of Sri Yantra intersect at 54 points of yin-yang.
54 is the number of Sanskrit alphabets. Sanksrit is a divine language from the DNA. Remember the magic is in the MMMMMM part. So drag it a little more than the chant in the video. It sets up a resonant vibration, similar to the king mantra OM or AUM. The MMMMM humming boosts the production of Nitric Oxide in the body.
This was known to Indians and documented 7000 years ago. This mantra is very popular with Tibetian Buddhists- as it is endorsed by Dalai Lama. This video is Buddhist- they have NOT got the pronounciation right- but the purity of utterance and vibratory quality is OK. For example:- mani is jewel in Sanskrit - it cannot be pronounced as mAAni. Padma is lotus in Sanskrit - it cannot be pronounced as pEdme Be surprised!
Opposing forces Tamas and Rajas are connected through consciousness ( yin-yang ). The middle prong of Shiva’s trident is Sattwa. It is about quantum possibility vortex vibrations, between two poles, we call the cosmic dance of Shiva from either side of the Quantum screen. Together they express the great void at absolute peace with itself. To activate the third eye of Shiva, or to perceive higher dimensions, the pineal gland ( soul ) and the pituitary glands ( body ) must vibrate in resonance to create a field.
This is represented by Samudra manthan in Hindu mythology, where mount meru is used to churn the oceans for Amrit or Ambrosia in a to and fro movement, representing vibrations. The amrit of the ambrosia or Soma is the holy grail. This is what the Templar knights got after excavating King Solomon's temple. Soma is a divine LSD- rather a million times more powerful DMT. A 12 strand Maharishi with NIL junk DNA can produce it naturally, by resonating his pineal gland with his DNA, and achieve telepathy and psychic teleportation. The psychedelic journeys are accessed and experienced within the realms of the pineal gland.
The pineal gland is the Shiva lingam. Serotonin has the same chemical structure as this hallucinogenic substance Soma.
Serotonin is transformed into melatonin only in the pineal gland. Decline in melatonin is the trigger for the aging process, for Melatonin is the super-oxidant of nature. The hormone Melatonin, induces sleep, while Serotonin, keeps you happy and in a balanced mental state of mind. PROZAC raises serotonin. The pineal gland produces Pinoline, ( 6-methoxy-tetra-dydro-beta carboline, or 6-MeO-THBC ).
Pinoline also resonates with the very pulse of life 7.83 Hertz, the pulse the DNA uses to replicate, and which has been measured to be emitted from the brains and hands of all successful healers, regardless of belief or faith. OM king mantra is 7.843 hertz. Resonance can vibrate the pineal gland, to release Nuerotransmitter seratonin, melatonin, DMT, etc. If you have a strong enough sense of consciousness you will taste a huge pituitary release in the back of your mouth and sinuses and throat, it is referred to as ambrosia ( amrit - mental orgasm discharge ).
This is a result of DMT production. DMT is the spirit molecule that bends space-time. Pineal DMT is the chemical messenger which links body and spirit. Dimethyltryptamine, a psychedelic tryptamine Pinoline enables the threshold levels of DMT to become active in the brain, but it requires an instant bungee jump induced adrenaline burst. DMT with Pinoline increases brain activation multi fold. You cant observe the quantum world without your Pineal gland - the other 5 senses have too narrow bandwidths.
Quantum physics has showed the ancient Indian Yogis were NOT mere dreamers of cosmic consciousness, where our bodies, our brain and its mind, as inextricably joined with other matter and the mega dipole of universe. There is indeed a connection between consciousness and tangled state quantum phenomena Indian Vedic maharishis had the inherent ability to go on either side of the narrow band of five human senses.
THEY COULD TRANSCEND THE SENSES AND LIMITATION OF SPACE-TIME. They firmly believed that the invisible below the quantum screen gives rise to the visible. At the time of death Seratonin and Melatonin in the brain breaks down to Dimethyltryptamine or DMT, C12 N2 H16, just after the oxygen stops circulating.
![]()
This is the moment for the ultimate DMT trip. You see your whole past life as FRACTAL dvine geometry. When you consume Soma, colours, sounds and numbers all show up as fractal geometry.
What you have learnt in the past is of no use to you. As you breathe in the oxygen enters your brain and causes an explosion of fractal colours. To the spiritual eastern mind, the story of SAMUDRA MANTHAN produces amazing acts of faith like the Kumbh Mela, which has been going on for 6000 years.
Tamas and Rajas are conscious of each other. Amrit reveals the fractal nature of consciousness. Amrit is NOT external, it is produced inside your head. All you need to know is how to produce it by your own mind. 12 strand DNA which ancient Maharishis had, has now degraded to 2 strand DNA. These 12 strand DNA maharishis with raised Kundalinis, can read akashik records, convert them from fractal geometry, for daily life use. The cobra on Lord Shiva 's shoulders shows raised Kundalini and open third eye.
This self realisation (of opening the third eye), is the ultimate goal of consciousness. The timeless spiritual wisdom of the of the 7000 year old Vedas will roar to life after Dec 21st 2012- the veil of Maya or delusion over the third eye will be ripped asunder—as the first step towards upgrading the 2 strand 97% junk DNA to 12 strand nil junk DNA. Capt Ajit Vadakayil.
Nestled deep inside the middle of your brain rests the pineal gland. Descartes believed it to be the seat of the soul and scientists have found that it produces melatonin, which affects sleep patterns. In the metaphysical community, it is believed that the pineal gland in most people today is not activated or stimulated, due to too much electronic stimulation and fluoride in tap water and toothpaste. However, pineal gland activation is possible if you know how. But why should we care about pineal gland activation? What are the benefits of pineal gland activation? There are seven Chakras in our bodies and the pineal gland is the 6th one.
All of the chakras should be balanced for the optimal performance of the body and the mind. Pineal gland activation will help the 6th Chakra reach its potential, which includes clairvoyance, psychic abilities, imagination, and dreaming. Pineal gland activation will awaken our minds ability for prophecy. A person who has achieved pineal gland activation will experience increased psychic awareness and psychic talents. Some people believe that supernatural powers will be initiated with pineal gland activation. Besides increased psychic awareness, pineal gland activation will help the pineal gland, or the third eye, to act as a stargate that can see beyond space and time.
It also acts as a link between the physical world and the spiritual world. That’s not all. Other benefits of pineal gland activation include telepathy and a greater level of perceptiveness that can go beyond this three dimensional world. There are three crystals in the pineal gland which help with this ability of visionary capacity. The three crystals are apatitie, calcite, and magnetite. Apatitie helps with inspiration, spiritual oneness, and psychic enhancement, while calcite is for the expansion of one’s powers.
Magnetite aids with mediation, visionary purpose, and establishing our experiences in the physical world. Together, all these three crystals create a cosmic antennae, which aids the transfer of signals between the different dimensional planes. All these benefits have caused some people to believe that the most famous prophets of our history all have undergone pineal gland activation. If all these benefits sound like something you want to experience, the next step is to learn how to achieve pineal gland activation.
The most important step in activating the pineal gland is to raise the frequency in the body. This can be done through meditation, visualization yoga, chanting, dancing, drum sounds, Tai Chi postures, Qigong positions, and using stereo grams. Any of these methods will open the third eye (the pineal gland) and help you to be able to see beyond the physical world. This process takes practice – with practice, you will be able to do this faster and more often. Producing certain sounds can activate your pineal gland.
One method is to make the sound’nnnn’ while covering your ears. Then sound ‘mmm’ for a few minutes, and then say ‘ngngng’ for the same amount of time.
These sounds will put a light pressure on the pineal gland, which stimulates it and activates it. Light is one of the stimulators for the pineal gland. You can do a mediation that includes a beam of light. One method is to close your eyes and focus all of your thoughts on the pineal gland (remember, it is in the middle of your brain). Send beams of light to the following locations, all in this order: your front side, the back of your head, to the left of you, to the right of you, straight up, and straight down. Breathe in deeply thought your nose, and then exhale through your mouth. Repeat all the steps several times before relaxing and opening your eyes.

To those who think that Rinpoche is talking about a Buddhist practice here, he is not.
It is just an article which is interesting to Rinpoche that Rinpoche wishes to share with all of us “as it might benefit people.” However, there is a possible link to Buddhist meditation as follows: Using sound to activate a response from our physical body is a common technique for meditators and the purpose of reciting mantras is because those particular sounds, which are the energy of the Buddha in the form of sound, have a positive effect on our body. Visualising light entering our bodies is also part of our daily meditations and the sound of mantras combined with correct visualisation will definitely be beneficial for us and the taming of our minds. Whether the pineal gland really plays a role in spiritual development can not be proven for now but the effects can be observed. This information seems be quite new age but the appearances and capabilities of seeing spirits and another dimensional beings certainly is quite a common knowledge among people who do believe in other sentient beings or live forms which cannot perceive with our naked human eye. With advances in modern medical equipment certain parts of human internal anatomy can be scan and observe for changes. It was not possible in the past not to mention during the time Buddha was living. It was not feasible to scrutinized a living human’s internal especially the brain which is protected by brain skull.
However whether we use our new found ability is another story as some would think that is a privilege and unique to a group of selected few, not thinking that how we can use it for the benefit of others. This is something new to me and from what I read about the sixth chakra, it is located between and just above the eyes. It is also known as the perception center. The organ/parts of body associated with the sixth chakra are the pituitary gland, eyes, head and lower brain. Since the most significant aspect of consciousness at the level of the 6th chakra is the development of psychic abilities, the more clarity we have within ourselves, the better we are able to see the subtle properties of the world around us. So this practice on sound and light to activate our pineal gland is interesting and beneficial but may take time cultivate. I hope to start and try this out.
Thank you, Rinpoche, for sharing this interesting article. Very interesting article, the activation of Pineal Gland can open up our 6th sense, a very new topic to me but since my young age, I always heard of how much we used our brain and how much is still in sleeping mode. Well, I guess this is something really fit into what we have been told, but the difference is we didn’t know the path to the activation of the Pineal Gland. Through meditation, chanting, visualization yoga, etc, etc that is all teaching in Buddhism. Hmm, how this related to Buddhism.
I think gaining certain level of realization could be also connected to this Pineal Gland. How wonderful with the teachings of Buddha and the findings from the scientists today. Thank you Rinpoche for the very interesting article on The Benefits of Pineal Gland Activation. This is what i have read up on Chakras and it is another subject that i am very fascinated with. There is this vital energy ( Prana in Sanskrit) throughout a man’s subtle energy system. It is also known as the ‘absolute energy’.
Every living being depends on the frequencies of Prana it is capable of absorbing and storing. The Chakras act as receivers, transformers and distributors of the various forms of Prana. Traditional writings mention 88,000 chakras in a human body, approx 40 are considered significant but 7 are the most important.
Each of these 7 chakras ‘governs’ different parts of the human physical. Mental, emotional and ethereal body.
The Pineal Gland chakra is also known as the 6th chakra or ‘The Third Eye’ chakra, which ‘governs’ the following: Physical body -face, eyes, ears, nose, sinuses, cerebellum, central nervous system Mental- Intellectual cognition, rational thought Emotional -harmony with oneself and with surroundings Ethereal – realization of inner correlations, imagination, intuition, divinely inspired thoughts, access to inner truths through devotion. When the third eye chakra is activated, balanced or opened, we have intuition, clairvoyance, hypersensitive hearing or feeling (things that we had only vaguely suspected before are now perceived clearly),an active mind, advanced intellectual skills, clear extrasensory perceptions, a holistic way of seeing things.
When the third eye chakra is blocked, we only see and accept that of the material world, we are dominated by material desires, physical needs and unreflected emotions. We reject spiritual truths,we become forgetful, suffer with impaired vision and/or hearing, our minds are muddled and confused and our lives are just determined by unresolved emotional patterns. We are most fortunate that Rinpoche had included the video so we can activate our 3rd eye chakra by watching the video to stimulate our Pineal Gland, by the music of the video and also going into a light meditation while watching and listening to the video. Thank you once again Rinpoche for sharing with us this fascinating article.
Thank you Rinpoche for the sharing. This is a very interesting article.I would certainly put it in to practice soon. Knowing is not sufficient but through diligence result will surface faster as we would stimulate that gland more often. My late father practice a form of meditation which focuses on the different resonance which was generated by each of the chakra, they term it as sound of bells. As he would cover his ear and focus inwards.
Attainment of extra ordinary power would be nice but we should not loose focus on our objective which is bodhicitta instead of attachment to seeking this powers. This is an amazing article and confirms that we are already in possession of the very things we need to realize and experience a higher consciousness beyond our normal state. The idea that the gateway to other dimensions, to an inner seeing, knowing and understanding is within ourselves is both exciting and surreal at the same time. I guess that is why so many spiritual paths train the practitioners to focus inwards rather than outwards for answers and it also explains why sounds, rhythm and visualizations are so important in certain practices. Some people might find all this to be superstitions and paranormal stuff but it makes a lot of sense because if reincarnation and past lives exist as we know they do, then where is past information, knowledge and past experiences stored?
If indeed they are stored somewhere within our physical or metaphysical being, then there must ge a gateway to that space. Uncanny how the Buddha realized all this and I am now realizing how shallow and basic our understanding of ourself is. Thank you Rinpoche for sharing, with us,this article on the benefits and power of the Pineal gland, which is located in the center of our brains. The pineal gland, if activated, works like the Third Eye when opened. How marvellous to know we all have this potential in us.
It’s like the discovery that there is a Buddha potential in everyone of us, when I first studied the Dharma. And I believe the two are linked.
If, with the cultivation of Bodhicitta and selflessness,we then awaken the potential of this gland, via meditation, vizualization and chanting of mantras, and invoke the blessings and protection of the Three Jewels, we will probably be able to realize our Buddha potential. Such a wonderful thought! However, there’s a long road of practice ahead of us, unless, we have merits enough and have created sufficient causes to walk the swift path.
This is New Age woo, except for the part about melatonin. Doesn’t Buddhism have enough superstitions of its own, without importing more of them from Western New Agers? The idea that the pineal gland is the “seat of the soul” comes from ancient Greek medicine. (Other authorities pointed to the heart instead.) The idea that there are seven chakras is from Theosophical writer C.W. Leadbeater, and several later figures (including H. Spencer Lewis of AMORC, Manly Palmer Hall, and Edgar Cayce) connected them with the seven ductless glands. Pseudo-scientific discussion of “frequency” could only have arisen after the 19th century.
So why believe this article? It is, after all, just one more set of metaphysical claims among many others, none of them with scientific backing. What if some other visionary writes another article saying that no, it is the prostate gland which is the “seat of the soul” (so to speak), and we can get enlightened by massaging it?
Without insisting on good reasons for believing things, how will you ever decide between them. For that matter, Buddhism is often said to reject belief in a soul. There’s always a fine line between healthy skeptism and just being cynical about everything. The Buddha encourages us to investigate before accepting but not being cynical about everything.
Chakras did not come from the west, that theology was used by the Indians and Chinese for many centuries, even millenia. Accupunture and yoga are two activities that utilizes the chakra system. That didint come from western theology.
The pineal gland is interesting because its description is the same as what is described as the third eye by eastern cultures for many centuries, the ability to perceive ghosts and astral travel etc. The point is, being cynical about everything before exhaustive research is made wasnt what the Buddha taught. The concept of chakras is older and Indic, as you said, but the idea that there are exactly seven of them (in the familiar arrangement) is from Leadbeater. Indigenous Chinese models of esoteric human anatomy are very different, and there is diversity within Indic systems as well.
Seven is the number of the classical planets, and there are medieval European illustrations showing images of the planets within the human body (based on the Hermetic principle “as above, so below.” Many years ago, when I first encountered the idea of chakras, I was excited, and wondered if this might hold the key to solving the mind-body problem (for instance). But the more questions I asked, the less sense it made. For instance, what are chakras made of? Some sort of spiritual subtance, presumably, but what is that? (Talk of “frequency” and “vibrations” does little to resolve the issue.) And how do we be sure that they even exist? Eventually I began to ask where the idea came from, an approach which led me to study the history of modern Western esotericism. I am glad that you plan to do “exhaustive research” on the subject, and not just believe everything you read on the internet (whether by me or anybody else).
A less advanced soul might have responded with cynicism towards me! Chakras are not made of spiritual substance but rather, they are the arrangement of nerves and blood vessels found throughout the body. Some people believe that it is actually the lymphatic system in the body because the description of the channels and chakras match the placement of the lymphatic glands and system in our body and the Qi energy could very well be the reverse current generated by blood (remember that science says blood is iron?) flow in our body which affects our organs.

Certain things are interesting when you actually do a comparison. In that case, why not simply speak of blood vessels or nerves? Why bring in (Indic) chakras, (Chinese) qi, or (Western) souls at all? I am not aware that mainstream science or medicine has found these concepts useful.
In this light, talk of chakras, etc. Really amounts to just another religious belief, no better than anybody else’s. By the way, one of the inspirations for the rise of ancient Indian materialistic philosophy was the realization, by ancient Indian doctors, that classical descriptions of the chakras don’t match what is actually inside the body! Interesting Like the sounds and colours being shown in the video. It makes more sense now why when we mediatate we’ve been taught by Rinpoche to visualise where the light would enter us and where we should be focusing on which sort of matches this information. However in Buddhist meditation, we also visualise the light coming down to our heart chakra and then slowly flow down all over our body and it envelopes us like a protection shield, likened to an egg shape. The only logical point of view I can think of is that the heart activates our compassion nature not sure if this is correct?
And the egg like shield is to protect us as a whole so no negative energy can penetrate in while we’re meditating and going off on our busy day. I was also thinking, well if we can chant or make the sounds of sound’nnnn’ while covering your ears, then sound ‘mmm’ for a few minutes, and then say ‘ngngng’ is required to activate our pineal gland, then wouldn’t it be much better to chant the seed syllable of Manjushri – DHI DHI DHI x 108 times? Interesting that science are only beginning to discover and recognised what was probably taught and known by Buddha some 2500 years ago which not only activates the 3rd eyes and psyche, but also our compassionate nature.
Before joining Dharma, I had heard of some new age therapists who work with the sound energies and who talked about how the sounds around us can affect our own energy levels, sleep, rest, and emotions. She explained that one of the defining factors for feeling so exhausted after flying (even if we sleep throughout the flight) is that the underlying noise of a plane becomes very draining on our energy levels. So sound energies definitely do have a very significant impact on our wellbeing. I’m sure you might also have heard of parents playing mozart’s music to their children, after scientific studies proved that an early exposure to such music (particularly Mozart!) would heighten a child’s intelligence and learning abilities. Really quite fascinating. And since it’s a Friday evening, and we’re starting to flag a little, I’m off to listen to some pineal gland enhancing music now.
Time for dreaming and grand, liberating imaginations! This is most fascinating!
I love this explanation here and I think that the sounds meant to stimulate the pineal gland is most similar to the way Buddhist traditionally chant their mantras. The hypnotic sound of the Buddhist chant is probably meant to stimulate this chakra as well which I guess is in order to plant blessings into the deepest core of our being. I am not much of a meditational master but with the little practice I do that was taught by Tsem Rinpoche, I can say that it has far-reaching benefits. An example of one meditational practice that stimulates using the sound of Manjushri’s mantra – Om Ah Ra Pa Tsa Na Dhi.
The last syllable is recited 108 times in a single breath to stimulate Manjushri’s wisdom within us. That’s just fantastic.

Since all animals have feelings and can feel pain, we should not be selective on which species should we choose not to consume. If we can be kind and loving to dogs, hence not eating them, we should be kind and loving to chickens, pigs, cows and lambs too. While we may not breed chickens or pigs etc inside our home, and hug them like how we do dogs, the least we can do is not to cause harm to them.

About 93.6 per cent of all the people in Thailand are Buddhists Thailand’s population is Theravada Buddhist.
Religious beliefs, traditions, and customs run deep, and permeate nearly every aspect of life. Buddhism is Thailand’s state religion, freedom to practice the religion of one’s choice is guaranteed by the constitution, and all Thai citizens equally enjoy this right and prerogative. This freedom is, in fact, rooted in the spirit of tolerance, which is one of the most distinctive characteristics of the Buddha’s teachings. How beautiful to have that signage added to other common signage here in Malaysia. Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this. First thing that comes to me is that mummies are mummified bodies of the dead that would ensure a safe passage to the after life. But never strikes me that ancient times the Egypians do have mummified puppies often had animals buried with them, may it be their beloved pet or as part of a religious ritual.
Researchers have discovered burial sites filled with huge numbers of mummified animals — nearly 8 million of them, mostly dogs. The huge number of dog mummies suggests the existence of ancient Egyptian puppy mills. They mummified various animals. It was an enormous part of Egyptian culture, not only in their role as food and pets, but also for religious reasons.
Whatever the reason it seem really heartless to me that such a number of pets or puppies been mummified. But do they deserved a better life than that.
They should be treated as humans too. Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this interesting article. Look fantastic with beautifully decorated indoor and outdoor Buddha statues. As a vegetarian, tofu (beancurd) forms one of my staple diet along, not just because it is tasty but also because it is so versatile. Tofu can be a main dish, a side dish or even be made into sauce. Due to the naturally bland taste, tofu goes with and accentuates the flavour of the dish. And more importantly, it is suitable for any cooking method, and also taste good when chilled or raw!

It is also one of the best complete protein foods as it offers more dietary fiber and protein than brown rice. AmazingIt seem to be a 7,000-year-old plant that originated in the mountainous regions of South America. It only became more widely use in recent years due to the health benefits include reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, colon cancer, and obesity. So it’s perfect for vegetarians and vegans as it provides all 9 essential amino acids, making it a complete protein. Tsem Rinpoche 'What makes us good humans is not how we abuse animals, but how much we allow them to live and be happy freely.' Tsem Rinpoche 'We need another and wiser and perhaps a more mythical concept of animals. We patronize them for their incompleteness, for their tragic fate of having taken form so far below ourselves. And therein we err, and greatly err. For the animal shall not be measured by man. In a world older and more complex than ours they moved finished and complete, gifted with extensions of the senses we have lost or never attained, living by voices we shall never hear. They are not brethren, they are not underlings; they are other nations, caught with ourselves in the net of life and time, fellow prisoners of the splendour and travail of the earth.'
Henry Beston, The Outermost House 'Not eating animals is only unnatural when we are not used to it.' Tsem Rinpoche. 'I pity men who occupy themselves exclusively with the transitory in things and lose themselves in the study of what is perishable, since we are here for this very end-that we may make the perishable imperishable, which we can do only after we have learned how to approach both.' Johann Wolfgang von Goethe 'Money amplifies negative characteristics and that can cause problems. To walk away from that was actually very easy. I didn't even consider it.'

Angeline Francis Khoo 'I shall not commit the fashionable stupidity of regarding everything I cannot explain as a fraud.' Carl Jung 'There is a devil there is no doubt, but is he trying to get into us or trying to get out?' Tsem Rinpoche 'If you love someone, show it by being honest, respectful & honorable with them.' Tsem Rinpoche 'It's not what you look at that matters, it's what you see.' Henry David Thoreau 'If I can just be the way I am & you the way you are & we accept each other, world peace is near.' Tsem Rinpoche 'I am Asian, you are some other beautiful color. Together we make diversity so beautiful.'
Tsem Rinpoche 'It's amazing how some people have never met me or know who I am, but based on a few things they read here & there & rumours, they have formulated a new personality for me & all the things I've never done they passionately speak about.I find it funny and entertaining now. I guess we can't spend our lives fighting rumours.we just have to work hard & then rumours get proven wrong on it's own as a by product. No point explaining repeatedly. Just do our work & show results!!'
Tsem Rinpoche 'There's a difference between patience and laziness. Patience comes from respect while laziness from disrespect of others.'
Tsem Rinpoche 'Although outwardly we have so much, we have so many conveniences, inwardly we have become more unhappy, so, acquisition is not the secret to happiness. The more we get, the more we have, the more unhappy we become.' Tsem Rinpoche 'Before we experience any pain, we already had a fixed view of how things should be.
When the experience we encounter contradicts our views, then the pain arises. The pain arises due to our fixed views not so much the experience itself. So the secret is changing the views. Re-educating ourselves on our views.' Tsem Rinpoche 'You know since very young, for better or worse, I always did the things that others told me not to do.
I wasn't really good at following the rules. Even now with how I share Dharma and my practice, I just do it the way I think it should be done but I do it sincerely. Not what others tell me what I can and can't do.' Tsem Rinpoche 'Love me or hate me, both are in my favor. If you love me, I'll always be in your heart. If you hate me, I'll always be in your mind.' William Shakespeare 'One isn't necessarily born with courage, but one is born with potential.
Without courage, we cannot practice any other virtue with consistency. We can't be kind, true, merciful, generous or honest.' Maya Angelou. Recently Beng Kooi and Martin on behalf of myself and Kechara was lucky to have audience with His Holiness Gaden Trisur Rinpoche Jetsun Lungrik Namgyal of Gaden Shartse Monastery. He lives in around Paris, France.
His Holiness is 91 years old and very healthy and alert. He was the 101st throne holder for Tsongkapa and was the head of the Gelugpa school of Buddhism and was very successful during his tenure. He is a strong practitioner of both Sutra and Tantra of Je Tsongkapa's tradition and a master of all Buddhist knowledge. He holds steadfast to his protector Dorje Shugden very strongly. So we can see even the highest throneholders who are masters of Sutra and Tantra also practices Dorje Shugden knowing the benefits.
Beng Kooi and Martin brought photo albums of Kechara Forest Retreat/Kechara and updates on Kechara and our works. His Holiness was very pleased to listen and offered some gifts back. This is a beautiful picture and the great blessings bestowed on us from His Holiness Gaden Trisur Rinpoche Jetsun Lungrik Namgyal. Humbly, Tsem Rinpoche Read more on His Holiness Gaden Trisur Rinpoche. These are the heartbreaking scenes we see over and over again, that we share in the hopes of telling the stories of those who otherwise would have suffered and vanished from this earth without a trace. This is Norma Jean. Free for a little over five months, she knew more happiness than millions of her sisters ever will.
But she couldn’t escape the fate genetically programmed into her as an egg producing machine. She seemed more lethargic than usual this morning, so we brought her inside to administer fluids and antibiotics in the hopes of pulling her through until we could get her in to see our vet. She couldn’t hang on. She died this evening shortly after this video was taken, severely infected from the rotting egg yolk adhered to various organs throughout her abdominal cavity. Like virtually every single one of her sisters, caged or free range, rescued or not, she paid the ultimate price for eggs (from FB).
Pastor Niral Patel answered: Dear Johnny, Thank you for your question. I am sorry to hear that your friend is sick, but he is very lucky to have a friend like you who can share these immensely powerful practices with him. The aspect of visualisation can be very frustrating for beginners, especially with practices like the 35 Confessional Buddhas simply because there is so much visualisation involved. Within Buddhism for a practice to be the most beneficial, one needs to engage what are known as the ‘three doors’ – these are one’s body, speech and mind. In order to engage the body, traditionally you sit in full lotus meditation posture, however this may not always be possible due to physical difficulties, especially is the person is suffering from illness. In this case, the best way to engage the body is to sit as comfortably but alert as possible in a quiet place, preferably in front of an altar or image of any of the enlightened beings.
In order to engage the speech, one simply recites the prayers, and in order to engage the mind, one engages in the accompanying visualisations. However since your friend has difficulty visualising at the moment, he should just do the recitation. Even that in itself has great benefit. If appropriate your friend should get an image or statue of Chenrezig, and an image of the 35 Confessional Buddhas. You can find free downloadable pictures of deities here:.
Ask you friend to find the picture(s) that are most attractive to him. He can focus on the image when reciting the prayers instead of visualising for now. The Buddhas operate from enlightened compassion, therefore if one has the correct motivation and is sincere, this creates a connection so that their energies can flow into our lives. Visualisation itself is a form of meditation, and as with all forms of meditation, as the practice seeks to calm the mind, obstacles will arise. This is even more so when a person is sick, as you mentioned. I would like to suggest that your friend still continue reciting the mantras and prayers, but not to force the visualisation too much for now. It can be very difficult at first and one can only get used to through repeated effort and practice.
Instead, I would like to suggestion that your friend engage in the Nine Round Breathing Mediation before reciting the prayers. This will help calm your friends mind in general, and also help in your friend’s healing process as it helps to purify the body as well.
I have include His Eminence the 25th Tsem Rinpoche’s instructions on the basic breathing meditation below. I hope this helps. Basic Nine Round Breathing Meditation Have your eyes either open a little bit or closed, whichever is better for you. Relax your shoulders, have your hands on your lap with the right on top of the left; two thumbs touching; arms slightly away from your sides, hanging loosely by your sides. Your mouth and jaw should be relaxed. Chine tucked in a little bit.
Place the tongue on the roof of the mouth behind the upper teeth and breathe normally with a natural, steady rhythm. Now let’s start the nine round breathing meditation. Using your right hand, your right index finger blocks off the left nostril while you are breathing in through the right nostril. Just let your breath come in slowly and steadily, pause for a moment, then block off the right nostril and breathe out the left nostril. Do this slowly and steadily three times, in through the right and out through the left. Focus completely on the breathing, on the sensation of the nostrils as you are breathing in and out.
For the next three breaths keep your right nostril blocked and breathe in through the left and then move your finger to block off the left and breathe out through the right. So breath in through the left and out through the right, three times. For the last three breaths bring your hands back to your lap and breathe through both nostrils evenly, slowly and gently.
Pause for a moment and then exhale through both nostrils, keeping your mind fully focused on the breath, on the sensations, as you breathe in and out. Continue to breath normally and bring into your mind a positive motivation for doing the meditation. Think “I am going to do this meditation in order to work on my mind, to be a more positive, beneficial person for others, for the world.

May this meditation bring more peace and happiness to others, to the world.’ Once you have generated a positive motivation bring your awareness back to your breathing and just be aware of each inhalation and exhalation of breath. Let your attention ride or float on the breath similar to the way you would float on the surface of the ocean where there are gentle waves coming and going. Stay floating on the surface flowing with the wave, coming and going, flowing in and out, just let your attention rest or float on the gentle rolling rhythm of the breathing. Now move your attention away from the breathing to the mind itself, that which is aware of breathing. In other words instead of being aware of the breath, which is the object of your mind, the object of your awareness, become aware of the mind itself, the awareness itself, that which is observing the breath, experiencing the breath. The mind is like space or like sky, completely clear, not solid, and vast, spacious and unlimited.
Try to get a sense of how your mind is like that, like this clear, vast and spacious sky. The things that we are aware of, the thoughts, images, memories and so on, are similar to the clouds that pass through the sky, they’re not always there but they appear and after a while they disappear. If there are thoughts appearing in your mind while you are sitting here doing this mediation, thoughts, memories, images, or if you hear sounds or feel sensations in your body, think that these are just like clouds, passing through this space or clear sky of your mind. Let them come and let them go, realise that they are only momentary and not solid, they just come and go.
Let them go and return your awareness to the mind itself, which is like the clear spacious sky. See if you can get a sense of identifying with this clear space-like nature of the mind. In other words feel, “this is the real me, this is my real nature, who I really am”. Rather than identifying yourself with the temporary clouds of thoughts and emotions that passed through your mind, see if you can realise those as mental events, things that come and go in the mind. They are not you and not who you really are.
Let them go and identify with the clear space-like nature of your mind, your awareness, so that you are the sky, not the clouds. Before opening your eyes mentally dedicate the merit or positive energy for doing this meditation.
In the same way you motivated at the beginning, may this mediation be beneficial for others, may it bring greater peace, happiness, and benefit to other beings, to the world. So dedicate the effort that you made and the positive energy you have created from doing the meditation to that goal.
